What is the Gorge Speakeasy?

Episode 22 of the Discover Hood River podcast is out and I would like to introduce Angie of the Gorge Speakeasy. So what exactly is the Gorge Speak Easy? It is a local story event held once a month at a local venue called The Ruins. It features people who are willing to share stories and from what I can gather on my initial conversation with Angie most of the stories are not recorded so as the saying goes what happens at the speakeasy stays at the speakeasy.

What is The Ruins? The ruins is a local venue where events can happen and people can gather for things such as parties bands music and events such as Speakeasy where people can gather and it is a great place to get to know other people at some of the local events that happen here.

So why you go to the speakeasy? Well, it is a great way to meet local people and meet other people as well and share stories that otherwise you would never get to hear in any other venue. And on this episode of the Discover Hood River podcast we go over a variety of topics but for the most part I get to question Angie on where she is from and what are some of the local restaurants and things to do here in The Gorge that she does recommended. Originally from Boston she is very great with the outdoors and we discuss topics such as kayaking in mountaineering. Currently she is off to Nepal but will be back in November for the next Gorge Speakeasy event. I hope that you would be willing to check out a podcast episode number 22 to find out more about the gorge speakeasy and learn about the creator of this wonderful event here in Hood River. Many of the stories are actually not very long they last anywhere from 2 to 10 minutes and anybody is free to tell an interesting story and it is a great way to get your feet wet with speaking in front of other people as well as practicing public speaking. Especially if you are new to Hood River this is such a great venue to meet other people, Angie herself is from Boston and came by way of Utah and made it to Hood River but you can find out more about her story in the podcast.
