Shortt supply is located in downtown Hood River and not only has all of the latest gear and things to help prepare you on your long hike, but they would also have firsthand knowledge of all the best places to hike as well as weather information and other valuable things that you can purchase such as a new book that I have seen here locally that is for sale in many places is called the Gorge guides.
Things to Do in Hood River: Hood River Fruit Loop
What is it? The Hood River fruit Loop is a loop that goes from Hood River and goes up to a town named Parkdale and then you will go to a highway 35 which is then comes back down to Hood River to the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. This is a very scenic route and takes about one day on average to complete the loop as there are many places to stop along the way such as fruit stands, hotels, and other places to shop not to mention the magnificent views of Mount Hood and the beautiful scenery that you will see along the way.

Walking and Hiking: This area is superb for walking and hiking. Most of the time and year round the weather is acceptable to walk or hike just about anywhere here. There are several reasons why it is particularly great here. First, there are many hikes and trails to choose from, one of them being the unique walkway on the Colombia River near many great businesses. My recommendation is to Google “Stoked Coffee Roasters” and follow your GPS to get there, park, and once there you will see activities and things for kids, a walkway along the beautiful Columbia River and places to eat and have a cup of coffee
